The North of Chile consists of the arid Atacama desert and borders onto Peru,Bolivia,and Argentina. Which is the support town for one of the biggest Copper mines in the World. A short one hour bus ride from Calama is the tourist Village of San Pedro de Atacama which is a good base to explore the Desert.
